Rodney Dingle b. 20.9.29. Has conducted choral groups of one sort or another most of adult life as enthusiastic amateur. Day job - teaching modern languages; first half of career Bryanston [liberal Dorset public school]: housemaster, i/c rowing & also chapel choir. Then into real world - Exmouth Comprehensive. Has conducted variously Clyst Valley Choral Society, Imperial Singers, Whipton CS, sundry madrigal groups etc. Have always held that of all the arts in where amateurs engage, choral singing [properly trained] is the one that can most legitimately aspire to excellence, Also that choir practices should be well-prepared, hard-working and fun.
Other interests: family, Bach, especially the cantatas, sailing, and Arthur Ransome [yes, seriously].
